“Calm on the outside – strong at the core”
Staying calm means listening better, recognizing the other person’s needs and finding solutions that work for both sides. This builds trust, and customers become long-term partners.
The link between company and customers. In every company I have worked for, one task was at the center: the relationship with customers. I was often the key person between sales, management and customers – in direct contact, on visits and in ongoing correspondence. Supervisors repeatedly singled me out as the employee who understands customers’ needs before they are spoken.
ABET AG, Root. I gained my first experience in field sales by representing the company’s products (designer laminate panels and countertops) in French-speaking Switzerland. This included visits to architects and designers, but above all acquiring new customers: larger suppliers of kitchen and bathroom surfaces, construction companies and private clients renovating their homes. I also organized three-day customer visits to the production plant in Alba, Italy, where we introduced new customers to the company and the entire production process and won them over for the long term. I personally took part in every one of these trips.
Antima SA, Biel – Europe and USA. As sales assistant for Europe at the Biel office, I was responsible for administering the European sales channels, customer care and external communications. After two years I was asked whether I would take on the challenge of launching the brand, still unknown in the U.S., and above all its private-label offering on the American market. I accepted and traveled to California with a suitcase full of vision and motivation to build everything from scratch: new catalogs, pricing, corporate image and, above all, business development and networking. During the nine months of my permit, it became clear that the best solution was an established representative. In New York I found an agent who already carried ten brands and added Antima to his portfolio. The goal was achieved and the ideal solution found.
Integral International AG – 12 Years Self-Employed. With my own company I built two institutes for medical aesthetics (laser technologies) in Biel and Gstaad. Customer care, negotiations, marketing, sales and corporate image were part of daily business. I served a demanding international clientele and quickly built a loyal customer base, both in Biel and at the five-star hotel Le Grand Bellevue in Gstaad.
Real Estate USA. During my second stay in California, I managed the purchase, redesign, renovation and sale of our private property, negotiating with local real estate agents. We completed the project after two years with a net profit of 30% of the purchase price. In real estate, too, customer care and a well-thought-out sales strategy played a central role.
Swissport, Zurich Airport – VIP Services. After returning to Europe, I decided to take a position at Zurich Airport because I wanted to get to know the entire infrastructure of an airport. For two and a half years I worked in premium and VIP services. Customer care, communication and customer satisfaction were at the heart of my daily work. In hectic and sensitive situations I was called in specifically because I could de-escalate well, stayed calm and always quickly found a satisfying solution for the customer. The guests’ expressed satisfaction was the daily proof. No other role brought me so close to direct customer contact.
Customer care from conviction. Customer care comes naturally to me and is one of my greatest strengths. I understand my customers, take their concerns seriously and support them reliably, from the first contact to well beyond the close of the deal.
Negotiating and persuading. Whether with architects, international distribution partners, employees, demanding private clients or VIP guests: I always negotiate with confidence, professionally and with a clear goal, in three languages. Regardless of product or customer, I always find room to negotiate that reflects the company’s philosophy and works for all sides.
